YKH Consulting, LLC provided comprehensive mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) engineering services for the development of a modern, single-story, 20,000-square-foot cardiovascular center. Designed to support both clinical and ambulatory services, the facility is evenly divided between patient-centered clinic spaces and high-functioning ambulatory care areas. YKH Consulting collaborated closely with architects and healthcare professionals to design MEP systems tailored to the unique needs of the cardiovascular center.
The HVAC system was engineered to ensure precise environmental control for patient comfort and the reliable operation of advanced medical equipment. Energy efficiency was enhanced through the integration of a chilled water system, penthouse-mounted air handling units, and hydronic variable air volume (VAV) boxes, ensuring optimized performance and reduced operational costs while maintaining sustainability goals. The electrical engineering scope included designing reliable power distribution systems, specialized lighting for clinical procedures, and a robust backup power system supported by a 600kW diesel-powered generator to ensure uninterrupted operation for the entire building. The plumbing systems were optimized for the center’s dual-purpose layout, including medical gas distribution for surgical and ambulatory care areas and efficient water systems to support clinical operations.
YKH Consulting's expertise ensured compliance with healthcare standards and building codes while meeting the functional requirements of a state-of-the-art cardiovascular center. The result is a facility that combines innovative MEP systems with a thoughtful design, enabling superior patient care and operational excellence.
