YKH Consulting partnered with Royal Engineering to design the replacement of four permanent chillers that had incurred damage during the storm. Our solution involved replacing them with three new chillers and two pumps into the system. A critical aspect of this upgrade was the installation of Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), which increased product’s longevity and offered enhanced energy-saving capabilities. The primary challenge we faced was to design an updated HVAC system that not only conserved energy but also accommodated the building’s potential growth, all while working within the constraints of the existing system’s 1200 GPM flow limitation. YKH and Royal is in the process of successfully implementing this system to not only met the immediate needs, but also to position the facility for substantial future energy savings and expansion. This achievement stands as a testament to our  commitment to innovative and sustainable solutions in HVAC engineering.
